Northville Public Schools announces Devin Kling as the new Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations. Kling, a seasoned financial professional, will oversee the district’s financial management and operations.
Kling began his education at St. Clair County Community College, earning an associate degree in business. He later received a bachelor's in business administration from Walsh College and a master's in education from Michigan State University. He holds a Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) Chief Financial Officer certification.
His leadership experience includes roles at Memphis Community Schools, Wayne-Westland Community Schools, Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, and most recently as Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations at Novi Community Schools.
Superintendent RJ Webber praised Kling's expertise, saying, "Devin brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility, operational excellence, and educational equity. His proven ability to manage complex budgets and his innovative approach to enhancing operational efficiency position him as an exceptional addition to our leadership team. Kling shared, “I’m very excited to become a part of Northville Public Schools as Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations! I felt so welcomed here the moment I began meeting staff and community members. I currently live in Plymouth, MI with my wife Karen, our two-year old son Rowan and our dog Missy. We are also excited to be welcoming a baby girl to the family this November. Outside of work, I’m a big sports fan. I can’t wait to come watch the Mustangs play football, basketball and more this coming school year. This is an exciting start of a new journey for my family and me. Kling succeeds Michael Zopf, who retired after 14 years with the district, and will officially begin his role on Oct. 1, 2024.
