Students and teachers meet on-site at Hillside Middle School on Mondays and Wednesdays, with asynchronous work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes do not meet on Fridays. The district is closed on July 2 and 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day; all assignments are asynchronous.

Hybrid learning enrollment is limited due to max class size.

Civics

8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. • .5 credit MMC • June 22 - July 16

Students will be expected to demonstrate the use of critical thinking and social-scientific inquiry skills. They will learn that culture, socialization and status affect one's political behavior, party identification and participation. Students will analyze roles, recruitment and decision making in the legislative, executive and judicial branches of our government. They will apply the knowledge learned in the text to current political situations.

Economics

11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. • .5 credit MMC • June 22 - July 16

This course examines the field of economics and the American free enterprise system. Students will gain an understanding;J of economics by viewing: basic theory, individual and household choices, business formulation/choices, the role of government, types of economic systems, and foreign and domestic trade.

Honors Geometry*

Honors Geometry A - Session 1 • 8:00 am - 2:30 pm • .5 credit MMC • June 22 - July 7
Honors Geometry B, Session 2 • 8:00 am - 2:30 pm • .5 credit MMC • July 8 - July 23

This is a course in the foundations of geometry, including but not limited to, reasoning, proofs and properties of lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, and the surface area and volume of three dimensional solids. This is an honors class, which means we will be moving through material quickly with a heavy emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving. Incoming 8th grade students who have an 'A' in Advanced Math 8/ Algebra 1 can enroll into Honors Geometry, however incoming 9th grade students are given priority placement.

*Honors Geometry enrollment is currently limited to Northville Public Schools students due to maximum class size.

Students must be entering 9th grade to receive credit for high school courses.

Summer School Policies & Guidelines

Please review the following details regarding accounts, credits, and exam requirements.

Michigan Virtual Account

Please allow up to 5 business days to receive your login credentials and access to your courses. All login information will be sent in email to the parent/guardian who registered and the student's email address. Thank you for your patience while you wait for your registration to be processed.

Many summer classes at the high school level provide students with the opportunity to recover or gain a semester's credit for each class successfully completed (including the final exam, if required). There are also additional online classes that provide opportunities for students to explore areas of interest.

If you have any questions regarding credit or graduation requirements, please refer to your student's counselor.
Login information will take up to 5 days to process and an email will be sent in email to the parent/guardian and the student.
All final exams will be on-site at Hillside Middle School.

Summer School Transcripts

A paper transcript will not be sent home for summer school. You will be able to check your grades on Blackboard until your course ends. Although you should be very familiar with where your grades are located, you must enter your classroom in Blackboard and select the "My Grades" tab. Scroll to the bottom of the page and the total score for the course will be your final grade. At least a 60% for any course will get you credit for the course. Keep in mind a letter grade will go on your transcript, not the percentage. We use the Northville High School Grading Scale to convert the percentage to a letter grade.

Your grade will appear on your transcript in the fall.

Drops and Changes Policy

Last day to drop with a refund: June 17, 2026 by 4:00pm

There is a $10 return fee for each course dropped.
Processing fees charged at time of purchase are non-refundable.

Course Change Policy

Last day to change courses: June 19, 2026 4:00pm

No fee will be charged to change courses.

How to Drop/Change Courses

Please complete the Drop/Change Request Form to begin the process. Be sure to have your original receipt with you as details are required from your original purchase. This receipt should have been emailed to you when you enrolled.
